Angelina Jolie made her debut in Hollywood in 1982 alongside her father, John Voight. At the time, she was not well known and did not get her big break until 1999. How did this actress go from a young, struggling actress to a philanthropist? Here’s the story of Angelina Jolie.
Love for children
While Jolie appeared young and impulsive during her earlier days in Hollywood, she has always had a love for children. That’s why she has six of her own, three adopted and three biologically born. Sadly, she had no idea that she would need a divorce attorney in Austin shortly after her wedding.
The actress adopted two children from Asia and one from Africa, birthing one of her own in an African country. She has been involved in philanthropy and humanitarian work all through her career. She officially started this part in 2006 when she established a foundation known as the Maddox Jolie Pitt Foundation. This foundation helped address rural poverty, conserve wildlife, and protect natural resources in Cambodia, where one of her kids was born.
She is also taking part in bringing awareness to the effects of wars in countries like Sudan. Jolie directed a movie to this effect. Besides her strong, humanitarian spirit, Jolie is an amazing actress. Her role in Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider brought her into the limelight officially. However, further roles, such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Maleficent, solidified her place in Hollywood.
Sadly, Jolie has been away from the limelight for some time now because of her very public divorce.
Divorce chronicles
Jolie had so many hyper relationships and was even married in 1996 to actor Johnny Lee Miller. In 2000 Jolie married Billy Bob Thornton and also had a thing for actress Jenny Shimizu. After her divorce from Billy, she met Brad Pitt on the set of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The prayer started to date, and were inseparable at first.
Soon, they adopted a baby girl called Zahara from Ethiopia and two other children from Cambodia and Vietnam named Maddox and Pax. Jolie also had three biological children: a girl named Shiloh in 2006 and twins named Knox and Vivian in 2008.
After nine years of dating, the pair decided to get married in 2014. Sadly, two years after their wedding, Jolie filed for divorce. Initially, she cited irreconcilable differences but later revealed that domestic violence was involved.
Jolie claimed that Pitt attacked her while they were on a plane and even hurt one of the children, leading to her filing in 2016. The children all took their mother’s side, with some of them changing their names and getting rid of their father‘s name. The relationship between Pitt and his children has been estranged since then.
In late 2024, after eight whole years, the divorce was finalized. So far, there is no record online about the settlement terms when it comes to custody arrangements or any financial details. The pair has only two minor children now, and it is unclear who will get full or shared custody.
